André Margat
1903 - 1999
French artist André Margat was born in Paris in 1903. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
Margat exhibited his works in Paris at the Salon of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, where he was a member of the committee and president of the decorative art section. He also exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants, of which he was a member, the Salon d'Automne, and the Salon of the Société des Animaliers.
In 1926 Margat became an active member of the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, and he was an adminstrator of the pensions allowance fund for professional artists from 1957-1959, and again from 1970-1973.
