A striking Art Deco oil painting depicting Diana, goddess of the hunt, rendered in the smooth, stylized figuration characteristic of the period. The nude figure stands in contrapposto beside a leaping doe, her hair swept back with a crescent-moon motif — a classical attribute of Diana/Artemis. Behind her, a tree trunk is worked in a striking silvery, almost metallic palette that contrasts with the lush greens of the woodland clearing and a distant blue-toned landscape with a stream in the foreground.
The composition combines the clean lines and idealized figuration typical of 1930s–40s Art Deco painting with a mythological subject long favored in decorative arts of the period. The piece is signed lower right, "D. Hugher."
