A compact, jewel-like example of Miguel Berrocal's dismountable puzzle sculptures, La Mini Maria presents an abstracted female form compressed into a dense cluster of interlocking, high-polish nickel-plated segments — rounded lobes and faceted planes that separate and re-nest with Berrocal's characteristic mechanical precision. At the sculpture's center, an oval cabochon stone set in a warm brass surround serves as a focal "jewel," a device Berrocal used across several works in this small-format series to suggest a navel, eye, or ornament embedded within the abstracted anatomy. The piece is raised on a black cylindrical stand. Cast in Verona, Italy, La Mini Maria was issued with an original box, instruction booklet, and stand, and belongs to the same tabletop-scale puzzle series as Berrocal's Mini David and Mini Cariatide.
