A striking later work from Miguel Berrocal's Venice period, Alice II reimagines the artist's signature dismountable puzzle-sculpture language as an armored, faceless bust. The figure's head is reduced to a polished oval void — a recurring device in Berrocal's mature work, suggesting a mirror or blank identity — set above a heavy link-chain collar. Voluminous, quilted sleeves in a diamond-stitched pattern envelop the shoulders, while the torso is draped in pleated, feather-textured robes. A round coin-form medallion bearing a profile portrait hangs from the neck, and the figure's articulated hand — itself composed of interlocking segments in Berrocal's characteristic puzzle construction — extends to hold a second, larger coin medallion. The sculpture is raised on a faceted stone plinth. Signed and numbered on the reverse, from the edition of 500 cast in Berrocal's Italian workshop in 1981–82.
