Bold, interlocking color planes animate this dynamic abstract composition by C. Riboud, in which simplified, dark ovoid forms suggest two stylized figures in movement. Saturated reds, oranges and yellows are balanced by lilac, blue and fresh green tones, organized in sweeping arcs and diagonals that convey a strong sense of rhythm across the picture surface. Painted in opaque, textural layers with visible brushwork, the work recalls post‑Cubist and lyrical abstraction while retaining a distinctly playful, modernist sensibility. The painting is signed “C. Riboud” lower left and presented in an elegant carved and gilt wood frame with a wide, neutral mat, ready to hang in a contemporary or Art Deco interior.
