Elegant wall-mounted console by Jules Leleu, combining a streamlined architectural silhouette with luxurious materials typical of French Art Deco. The design features two substantial glass shelves with rounded ends and polished green edges, visually floating around a rectilinear central frame in rich, dark-stained wood.
The uprights descend in a gentle scroll to form the wall brackets, giving the piece a light, suspended presence while remaining structurally robust. The console is signed “J. Leleu” on small ivory-toned plaques set beneath the upper shelf, and it corresponds closely to a period model illustrated in contemporary Leleu documentation, where it is described as a “petite console” with silvered glass backing and glass slabs. This rare hanging version functions equally well as an entry console, display shelf for books and objects, or under a painting, and it epitomizes Leleu’s restrained geometry and impeccable proportions.
